"In eighteen hundred and forty one, / I put me cord’roy breeches on,/ I put me cord’roy breeches on / to work upon the railway ! / Follow me holly holly hay/ Follow me holly holly hay / to wok upon the railway / It’s Pat do this ! and Pat do that ! / and nothing but an old straw hat / and nothing but an old straw hat / to work uôn the railway. Etc. Avec "Hooray for Greer County, the Land of the Free / the land of the bedbug, grasshopper and flea / I’ll sing of its praises / I’ll tell of its fame / while starving to death / on my government claim./ etc etc. sans oublier "Hans der Kommissar" une chanson de la Guerre d’Espagne sur l’air de Ich hatt’ einen Kameraden.
